The Values of Health

good for thirst, the best for health

Scientific studies recognise a primary role in the ability of mineral water to affect the functions of the body in a positive manner. For this to happen, it is necessary for mineral water to contain a series of specific characteristics.

Fixed residue of 108,7 mg/l at 180°C

The fixed residue (TDS) indicates the content of mineral water salt after the evaporation of 1 litre of water at 180°C: the lower the residue, the lighter the water, meaning a lower content of mineral salts. With a fixed residue of 108,7 mg/l at 180°C, Roana is amongst the lightest mineral waters available on the market. For this reason, it is ideal as a diuretic and is useful in the low-sodium diets and treatment of hypertension.

Microbiologically pure

Springing naturally at 1300 meters above sea level and with a constant temperature from the source to the bottle of 5,2 °C, Roana mineral water is a microbiologically pure water.

Based on the analytical certificates, the experimental tests and what is reported in the hydrological literature, we can state:

  • the absence of any toxic effect;

  • good tolerability and palatability, linked to the balanced ionic characteristics;

  • promoting calcium fixation through the catalytic process of its trace elements.

Absent arsenic concentration

The arsenic is a dangerous environmental contaminant, ranked among the most toxic elements that exist, so the law has imposed a limit of 10 micrograms per liter, concentration below which the impact on human health is irrelevant.The value found on Roana oligomineral water is less than 0.0001 mg / l in front of a maximum allowable limit of 0.010 mg / l provided by the analytical method, therefore it is suitable for everyone, in particular it is recommended for children under the three years of age that are more exposed to inorganic arsenic.

Very low concentration of fluorides

Fluoride is an essential element for our organism, it forms bones and teeth and helps prevent tooth decay. Since water, food, air and toothpaste contain fluoride and an excessive amount of this element may cause fluorosis to the teeth, it is necessary to avoid overdoses. Roana mineral water has a practically non-existent concentration of fluoride lower than 0.05 mg/l against a maximum low limit of 1.5 mg/l. This feature makes it particularly suitable for the diets of infants and children.

Concentration of nitrates lower than the maximum low limit

Nitrates are compounds which are naturally present in the environment as one of the forms that nitrogen takes in its life cycle. There are small quantities, which occur naturally in the ground present in tap water and most come from human activities such as farming, agricultural fertilizer, industrial waste or sewage. Nitrates do not bind in the earth and do not evaporate easily, but they have a very high affinity for water, because they are very soluble and may spread rapidly in an aquifer. Roana mineral water, flowing through land with a total absence of herds or pastures, has a practically non-existent nitrate concentration of 0,9 mg/l against the maximum low limit of 50 mg/l. This feature makes it particularly suitable for the diets of  infants and children.

Full of vital energy at all ages

The presence of magnesium, selenium, potassium, iron, calcium and bicarbonate and a fixed residue of 108,7 mg/l at 180°C makes Roana water a valuable daily ally. Pleasant and tolerated well it is also active in the intestine where it induces mild physiological activation. It also exerts a beneficial influence on the digestive processes and can be usefully employed in dietetics and macrobiotics as well as in pediatrics.
